WHAT IS LEAP?

Learners Early Access Program

This program is dedicated to providing unique opportunities for students seeking pathways to higher education and those looking to experience university life during their high school years. LEAP offers students in their third year of high school the chance to earn Algoma University credits within Academic year while maintaining a connection with their high school. Additionally, LEAP welcomes other eligible recent high school graduates and even young individuals who have already obtained a university degree, yet are still interested in studying abroad. The program supports students in their transition to university, guiding them toward successful enrollment at Algoma University and ensuring their academic success through collaborative participation.

HISTORY OF LEAP

Currently, Algoma University is actively implementing the LEAP program at its Brampton campus for students from the Peel District School Board (PDSB) and Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB). Since 2018, the LEAP program has been offered in collaboration with local school boards in the Sault Ste. Marie (SSM) area, offering early admission initiatives, undergraduate preparatory enrollment and learning plans for students.
